Ruggs, 24, was booked at the correctional facility located near Indian Springs, Nev., the Las Vegas Review Journal reported.

The Nevada Department of Corrections this week released his booking photo to the media. Details on where he was placed in the prison were not released.

The complex is located about 40 miles northwest of Las Vegas.

On August 9, he was sentenced to between three and 10 years. It stems from a deadly crash on Las Vegas’s Rainbow Boulevard in which Tina Tintor, 23, and her dog perished in November 2021.

He was driving as fast as 156 mph moments before the collision, prosecutors said.

Ruggs agreed to a deal in which he pled guilty to DUI resulting in death and vehicular manslaughter.

Other original charges against him were dropped, including reckless driving, driving under the influence, causing substantial injury, and a gun charge. A loaded firearm was found in his Corvette after the accident.

Ruggs faced up to 50 years in prison if he would have been convicted of those dropped charges, prosecutors said.

His blood alcohol level was 0.16% after the collision. That is twice the legal limit in Nevada.

Before being sentenced, Ruggs apologized to Tintor’s family, his former team (the Las Vegas Raiders), and his own relatives.

But the sentence earlier this month was questioned by former NFL star and celebrity O. J. Simpson.

“You’re driving a car at roughly 160 miles per hour on a public street and end up killing a girl and her dog and you get three to ten years?” Simpson posted on social media.

Simpson noted own his prison sentence was for between nine and 33 years.

Simpson referred to his conviction for the armed robbery of sports memorabilia from a room at the Palace Station Casino in September 2007.

Boulder Station Casino Motorist Critically Injured

An unnamed driver suffered critical injuries on Monday after his car struck a wall in a parking lot at the Boulder Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The injuries to the 32-year-old were described as “life-threatening,” according to Las Vegas TV station KLAS.

It appears he was driving a 2003 Honda Accord at about 7:40 p.m. on Monday in a parking lot east of Boulder Station Casino.

Struck Retaining Wall

The Honda smashed into a retaining wall and the driver suffered unspecified injuries.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers said impairment may have contributed to the crash, KLAS reported.

He was rushed to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center for treatment on Monday evening. Police did not have an updated condition on the victim as of Tuesday.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, Las Vegas TV station KSNV reported.
